Jumper and will be recognizing him for his achievements as the first elected Seminole chief in the Indian Territory, the first pastor of Spring Baptist Church and as the leader of one of three major Civil War battles won in the Indian Territory.

The presentation of the first plaque will be made at 1:00 p.m. at Spring Baptist Church in Sasakwa and the second will be made at the Seminole Nation Museum in Wewoka at 3:00 p.m.

The museum is hosting a reception following the 3 p.m. presentation in Chief Jumper’s honor and welcomes the public.
